About
Leah Georgiades, a digital artworker based in Brighton, navigates the intersection of visual and kinetic arts. Inspired by Symboliste art and poetry, Leah transforms static works into dynamic motion graphics and experimental film. Leah continues to craft her unique visual language that resonates with both timeless inspiration and the limitless possibilities of the digital realm.
‘I like when the universe gives me signs, ineffable sensations evoked by common happenstance. When I was young I would watch crickets, moths and birds and imagine if they could talk, what songs would they sing? I like old books and artefacts, I look at these things and think ‘what ageless secrets are they keeping from me?’ and then go off and make my own secrets. I feel that art gives us a chance to say things that can’t be said with regular words. My Heketroceran Songs are nicknamed from mythology and insect names. Nature has a good way of connecting us to both the present and the past and that’s where I explore that imagery.’
